Todd Austin, a 64-year-old resident of Gloversville, New York, has admitted to charges related to drug conspiracy and distribution. The charges are connected to his involvement in distributing over 500 grams of pure methamphetamine. This development was announced by United States Attorney Carla B. Freedman alongside Frank A. Tarentino III from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), New York Division, and Ketty Larco-Ward from the Boston Division of the United States Postal Inspection Service (USPIS).

Austin confessed that between March and July 2023, he procured methamphetamine from a supplier based in Albany and sold it from his residence in Gloversville. He is among nine individuals charged in this investigation.

Several defendants have already pled guilty with varying sentences or pending sentencing dates: Andrew Deleon received a sentence of 72 months imprisonment followed by three years of supervised release; Stefanie Plass was sentenced to 24 months with an additional three-year term of supervised release; Ahmad Burke will be sentenced on April 9, 2025; Keisha Duboise's sentencing is scheduled for March 19, 2025; Flor Arencibia is set for sentencing on March 5, 2025; Melissa Karwan's sentencing is planned for February 24, 2025.

Austin faces up to a maximum sentence of twenty years in prison and a supervised release term ranging from at least three years to life after imprisonment. His sentencing is scheduled for June 6, 2025, before United States District Judge Anne M. Nardacci.

The indictment against two remaining defendants—Felix Arencibia and Christian Mur-Santana—remains pending as they await trial. Both are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

This investigation is being carried out by the DEA and USPIS with prosecution led by Assistant United States Attorneys Ashlyn Miranda and Joshua R. Rosenthal.

These cases fall under an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) initiative aimed at dismantling high-level drug trafficking organizations through collaborative efforts involving federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies.
