The owner of E-Card Lending LLC, Pablo Silverio Rebollido, 47, has been charged with operating a Ponzi scheme masked as a merchant cash advance (MCA) business. According to the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida, Rebollido is accused of wire fraud.
The allegations suggest that between August 2019 and February 2024, Rebollido fraudulently solicited funds from investors under the pretense of financing MCAs, promising them monthly returns. However, authorities claim E-Card had no actual clients, and the collected investment money was allegedly used to repay earlier investors and support Rebollido’s lavish lifestyle. Over 70 investors are said to have been affected, leading to more than $40 million in losses.
Rebollido's initial court appearance is set for April 11 in Miami. If found guilty, he could face up to 20 years in prison. The FBI's Miami Field Office is managing the investigation, and Assistant U.S. Attorneys Robert F. Moore and Jon Juenger are handling the prosecution. Asset forfeiture is overseen by Assistant U.S. Attorney Nicole Grosnoff.
Officials emphasize that Rebollido is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court. The FBI is actively seeking to identify potential victims from the period of January 2019 to January 2024. Those impacted or having relevant information are encouraged to complete a form on the FBI's Seeking Victims webpage. This process may assist the federal investigation and potential victim restitution.
