Richard Brundige, a 46-year-old resident of Ellenburg Depot, New York, has been sentenced to 65 months in prison for unlawful firearm possession. The sentence will be followed by three years of supervised release. This was announced by United States Attorney Carla B. Freedman, United States Marshal David McNulty, and New York State Police Superintendent Steven G. James.
Brundige had previously pleaded guilty to possessing a Marlin Model 336W lever action rifle and 17 rounds of ammunition on December 12, 2022. His four felony convictions in New York barred him from legally owning the firearm. At the time of the offense, Brundige was a fugitive from justice after a conviction in 2019.
The investigation was conducted by the United States Marshal Service and New York State Police. Assistant U.S. Attorney Carling Dunham prosecuted the case.
