A Dulce man has admitted guilt in a domestic violence case involving two counts of assault. Chalmers Dedios, aged 32 and a member of the Jicarilla Apache Nation Indian Tribe, pleaded guilty to charges of strangling and suffocating his intimate partner.

Court documents reveal that Dedios assaulted Jane Doe twice in February 2024, with one incident leading to her losing consciousness. At his sentencing, Dedios could face up to ten years in prison followed by three years of supervised release.

The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Alexander M.M. Uballez. The investigation was conducted by the Jicarilla Apache Police Department, and Assistant U.S. Attorney Jesse Pecoraro is handling the prosecution.
