An Edmonton, Kentucky man has been sentenced to over five years in federal prison for illegally possessing a firearm. Aaron Dale McKinney, 48, received a sentence of 5 years and 11 months, followed by three years of supervised release. The sentencing comes after McKinney was found with a Springfield Armory model XD-45 semiautomatic pistol and ammunition on February 23, 2023.
U.S. Attorney Michael A. Bennett of the Western District of Kentucky announced the sentencing alongside Special Agent in Charge R. Shawn Morrow of the ATF Louisville Field Division and Commissioner Phillip Burnett, Jr. of the Kentucky State Police.
