Maine court seeks public input on bar admission fee changes

The Maine Supreme Judicial Court is seeking public input on proposed changes to the Maine Bar Admission Rules, specifically concerning an increase in application fees for admission to the bar. The court has made the proposed amendment available online for review.

Interested parties have until 4:00 p.m. on February 19, 2025, to submit their comments. Submissions can be sent in writing or via email to lawcourt.clerk@courts.maine.gov. If emailing, attachments must be in a native PDF format and will be acknowledged by the Clerk's Office through a reply email.

Submissions should include the name and mailing address of the individual providing feedback, as well as contact details for any organization represented. It is not necessary to be an attorney to participate.

All submitted comments will become public records and may be published on the court's website.
