The Maine Supreme Judicial Court is seeking public input on proposed changes to the Maine Rules of Probate Procedure. These amendments aim to update electronic filing procedures, establish comprehensive rules regarding public access and confidentiality of electronic Probate Court records, and align the rules with recent legislation on court record confidentiality.
Interested parties can review the proposed amendments online. Comments must be submitted by 4:00 p.m. on February 25, 2025. Submissions can be mailed or emailed to lawcourt.clerk@courts.maine.gov. If sent via email, attachments should be in a native PDF format. The Clerk's Office will confirm receipt by replying to the email.
Submissions should include the name and mailing address of the individual or organization submitting comments, along with a primary telephone number if applicable. Comments are considered public documents and may be published on the court's website.
