A Philadelphia man has been sentenced to three years in federal prison for a house burglary on the Choctaw Indian Reservation. Sherente Tubby, 23, was convicted of burglarizing a home in the Tucker community of the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians Reservation in December 2021. He was indicted by a federal grand jury in March 2022 and pled guilty in September 2024. The sentencing took place on January 14, 2025.

The announcement was made by Acting U.S. Attorney Patrick Lemon and Special Agent in Charge Robert Eikhoff of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The investigation was conducted by the Choctaw Police Department and the FBI.

Assistant U.S. Attorneys Kevin J. Payne and Brian K. Burns prosecuted the case. This prosecution is part of Project Safe Neighborhood (PSN), an initiative launched in 2001 aimed at reducing violent crime and gun violence through collaboration among various law enforcement agencies and community leaders across the United States.
