A man from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, has been sentenced to over 20 years in federal prison for his involvement in aiding and abetting false statements during the purchase of firearms. Levi Allen Doolin, aged 22, received a sentence of 260 months following his guilty plea on June 26, 2024.
Doolin's actions involved using his then-girlfriend, Jasmin Fox, to purchase multiple firearms on behalf of others. Evidence presented at the sentencing hearing revealed that Doolin used one of these firearms in two separate shooting incidents and a robbery in Cedar Rapids. Additionally, it was shown that he had previously possessed firearms as a drug user while under high-risk supervision.
Chief Judge C.J. Williams presided over the sentencing in Cedar Rapids. Doolin received consecutive sentences totaling 260 months—120 months for two counts and an additional 20 months for a third count. Following his prison term, he will serve three years of supervised release without the possibility of parole.
Currently held by the United States Marshal’s custody, Doolin awaits transfer to a federal prison.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Nicole L. Nagin and investigated by several agencies including the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; the Cedar Rapids Police Department; and the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement.
