Ryan Davidek, a 40-year-old resident of Lincoln, California, has been sentenced to 12 years and seven months in prison. U.S. District Judge Troy L. Nunley delivered the sentence for Davidek's crime of interstate transportation of a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity. Acting U.S. Attorney Michele Beckwith announced the sentencing.

Davidek was also ordered to pay $13,270 in restitution to the victim and will be under lifetime supervised release following his prison term.

Court documents reveal that Davidek began a sexual relationship with a middle-school child he met online in 2016. Over several years, he arranged hotel stays and traveled across state lines, transporting the victim from another state to California's Eastern District for criminal sexual conduct.

The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation with assistance from the Sacramento Hi-Tech Crimes Task Force and other local law enforcement agencies. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Alexis Klein and Christina McCall are handling the prosecution.

This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative launched by the Department of Justice in May 2006 aimed at combating child sexual exploitation and abuse. The project coordinates federal, state, and local resources to prosecute offenders who exploit children via the internet and works to identify and rescue victims.
