A federal inmate, Daniel Baldwin, has been sentenced to an additional ten years in prison for possessing child pornography while already serving a sentence for a similar offense. The announcement was made by Acting U.S. Attorney Vikas Khanna.
Baldwin, 33, had previously pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Robert B. Kugler to charges of possession of child pornography. The new sentence was imposed by U.S. District Judge Karen M. Williams.
Court documents reveal that Baldwin was initially convicted in 2018 for possessing child pornography and received a ten-year prison sentence. In June 2022, while incarcerated at a federal correctional institution in New Jersey, corrections officers discovered an SD card hidden in Baldwin's clothing. A search of the SD card uncovered hundreds of images and videos depicting child pornography, including sexually explicit conduct involving prepubescent minors.
Along with the additional prison term, Judge Williams sentenced Baldwin to seven years of supervised release following his incarceration.
The investigation leading to this sentencing was conducted by special agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation under the direction of Special Agent in Charge Brian J. Driscoll. The FCI Fort Dix staff also assisted in the investigation.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Daniel A. Friedman from the U.S. Attorney’s Office’s Criminal Division in Camden represented the government in this case.
