Latimer County man pleads guilty to federal firearm charge

A resident of Latimer County, Oklahoma, has pleaded guilty to a federal firearm charge. Dustin Lee Harp, 41, from Wilburton, Oklahoma, admitted to one count of illegal receipt of a firearm by a person under indictment or information.

The indictment stated that between December 12, 2020, and December 9, 2021, Harp knowingly received a .22 caliber semi-automatic rifle while under indictment for a crime punishable by imprisonment for more than one year.

The charges were the result of an investigation conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Jason A. Robertson accepted the plea in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma and ordered a presentence investigation report to be completed.

Assistant U.S. Attorneys Jarrod Leaman and Edith Singer represented the United States in this case.
