An Auburn man, Devonne Scott, was sentenced in U.S. District Court in Portland for distributing cocaine base. Judge John A. Woodcock, Jr. sentenced the 31-year-old to 35 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release. Scott had entered a guilty plea on September 19, 2024.
Court records reveal that in July 2023, a confidential informant informed the FBI about an agreement with a man to sell crack cocaine. In August 2023, the informant carried out two controlled purchases of suspected cocaine base from Scott. These transactions were monitored and videotaped by the FBI and law enforcement partners. Laboratory analysis confirmed that the substances bought contained cocaine base.
The case was investigated by the FBI in collaboration with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and the Lewiston Police Department.
