A Rapid City woman has been sentenced to over 22 years in federal prison for her involvement in a methamphetamine trafficking conspiracy. U.S. District Judge Karen E. Schreier handed down the sentence to Alisa See, aged 39, following her conviction for conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance.

See will serve 22 and a half years in federal prison, followed by five years of supervised release. She is also required to pay a $100 special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund.

The sentencing follows See's indictment by a federal grand jury in July 2023 and her guilty plea on October 25, 2024. The court found that between 2022 and 2023, See participated in a drug conspiracy aimed at distributing methamphetamine across South Dakota. Working with another individual, she transported methamphetamine from California to western South Dakota for further distribution.

"See was personally involved in the distribution of at least 30 pounds of methamphetamine in western South Dakota," stated U.S. Attorney Alison J. Ramsdell. "We are grateful to our law enforcement partners at UNET for investigating and exposing this drug conspiracy, which permitted the U.S. Attorney’s Office to seek a federal conviction and impactful sentence."

The investigation was conducted by the Unified Narcotics Enforcement Team (UNET), which includes members from several law enforcement agencies such as the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office, Rapid City Police Department, South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation, South Dakota Highway Patrol, and the South Dakota National Guard. Assistant U.S. Attorney Mark Hodges prosecuted the case.

Following her sentencing, See was immediately placed into custody by the U.S. Marshals Service.
