United States Attorney Jane E. Young has announced several key appointments and organizational changes within the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of New Hampshire. These changes include the appointment of Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) John Kennedy as Deputy Chief of the Criminal Division, internal transfers involving AUSAs Kasey Weiland and Matthew Vicinanzo, and the creation of a new External Engagement Division.

John Kennedy brings over ten years of prosecutorial experience to his new role as Deputy Chief of the Criminal Division. His background includes leading investigations into various federal and state crimes such as homicides, voter fraud, public integrity crimes, drug and firearm offenses, and complex financial fraud. "John is a veteran prosecutor whose broad legal knowledge and trial skills will assist in leading the Criminal Division," said U.S. Attorney Young.

In addition to Kennedy's appointment, AUSA Kasey Weiland has been transferred to the Civil Division after a distinguished career at the U.S. Department of Justice focusing on crimes against children. Meanwhile, AUSA Matthew Vicinanzo moves to the Criminal Division from private practice with expertise in civil rights matters. "I am confident that both Kasey and Matt will continue to thrive in their new positions," stated U.S. Attorney Young.

The newly established External Engagement Division will be led by Jessica Kuron. This division aims to enhance law enforcement partnerships, community outreach efforts, and public information accessibility. It also plans to support victims in federal cases by bridging prosecution functions with community impacts through additional services.

Since May 2022, the office has offered 18 law enforcement trainings at no cost across New Hampshire on topics such as Miranda warnings and dark web investigations. The division will also oversee a student program providing work experience in criminal justice fields.

"The creation of an External Engagement Division will enable the U.S. Attorney’s Office to continue expanding its services," said U.S. Attorney Young, highlighting Jess Kuron's contributions to these efforts.

Jessica Kuron will serve as advisor to the U.S. Attorney and spokesperson while leading a team focused on victim advocacy and community engagement.

Positions within this new division are currently vacant, with job postings available on USAJobs.gov and LinkedIn.
