A Manchester man has admitted to illegal possession of ammunition in a federal court. The U.S. Attorney Jane E. Young announced the plea.
Eric Edmondson, aged 46, entered a guilty plea for possessing ammunition as a prohibited person. His sentencing is set for April 17, 2025, by U.S. District Court Judge Joseph Laplante.
The incident traces back to September 11, 2023, when a motorist reported a potential road rage situation involving a small black sedan with temporary New Hampshire plates and an apparent firearm display. Law enforcement identified the vehicle and stopped it along Route 101. Edmondson was driving and was arrested due to an outstanding state warrant. A search of his vehicle revealed a privately manufactured firearm and five rounds of 9 mm ammunition. As a felon, Edmondson is barred from owning or possessing ammunition.
According to the charging statute, he faces up to 15 years in prison, three years of supervised release, and a $250,000 fine. Sentencing decisions are made by federal district court judges based on U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and applicable statutes.
The investigation was led by the New Hampshire State Police and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives. Assistant U.S. Attorney Charles L. Rombeau is handling the prosecution.
