Jaime Ramos-Gonzalez, a 64-year-old resident of Lexington, Nebraska, has been sentenced for methamphetamine distribution. The sentencing took place on January 3, 2025, in federal court in Omaha. Chief United States District Judge Robert F. Rossiter, Jr. handed down a sentence of 135 months' imprisonment to Ramos-Gonzalez. Following his prison term, he will undergo five years of supervised release.
The investigation into Ramos-Gonzalez began in the summer of 2023 when the Nebraska State Patrol identified him as a meth distributor in the Lexington and Kearney areas. Authorities placed a tracking device on his vehicle to monitor his movements. On September 20, 2023, the tracker showed that Ramos-Gonzalez was traveling from Kearney to Omaha. A search warrant was obtained and executed upon his return to Kearney. During the stop, Ramos-Gonzalez admitted to having two pounds of meth in his car. A subsequent search led to the recovery of 970 grams of pure methamphetamine.
