Candidates announced for ninth judicial district court judge vacancy

Melodie L. Bellamy from Kearney, Matthew C. Boyle from Grand Island, D. Brandon Brinegar from Kearney, Morgan R. Farquhar from Holdrege, Sarah A. Hinrichs from Hastings, Kane M. Ramsey from Kearney, and John A. Sauder from Holdrege have submitted their applications for the position of District Court Judge in Nebraska's Ninth Judicial District. This district includes Buffalo and Hall counties and the vacancy arose following Judge Carson’s appointment to the federal bench.

The Judicial Nominating Commission will conduct a public hearing at the Buffalo County Courthouse in Kearney on January 24, 2025, starting at 10:30 a.m., where all applicants will be interviewed.

Members of the public are invited to share their opinions regarding any candidate by submitting written information or letters of recommendation to the commission before they select qualified candidates to fill the vacancy. These submissions should be sent to the commission chair or emailed to ashley.jenkins@nejudicial.gov and will remain confidential.
