A Phoenix man has been charged with two counts of aggravated sexual abuse involving a child under 12 years old. The indictment claims that Jeremy Blueeyes, 25, who is a member of the Navajo Nation, engaged in and attempted to engage in unlawful sexual acts with a minor between January 1, 2019, and December 31, 2019.
Blueeyes is currently held in custody awaiting trial. If found guilty, he faces a minimum sentence of 30 years to life imprisonment.
The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Alexander M.M. Uballez and Raul Bujanda, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Albuquerque Field Office.
The investigation was conducted by the Gallup Resident Agency of the FBI Albuquerque Field Office with support from the Navajo Police Department and Navajo Nation Department of Criminal Investigations. Assistant U.S. Attorney Nicholas J. Marshall will be prosecuting the case.
It is important to note that an indictment is merely an allegation and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in court.
