A former resident of New Hampshire has admitted guilt in a federal court to charges related to defrauding her previous employer. U.S. Attorney Jane E. Young made the announcement regarding Elizabeth Morse, 55, who is currently residing in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Morse pleaded guilty to federal wire fraud charges, and U.S. District Judge Samantha Elliott has set the sentencing date for February 26, 2025.

Court statements and public records reveal that Morse was a long-time employee at Bedford Women’s Care Associates (BWCA), a medical group practice in Bedford, NH, specializing in Obstetrics & Gynecology until its closure in early 2023. In 2020, she became the office manager and managed payroll processing through a third-party service. It was during this time that Morse manipulated payroll processes by logging into the system and increasing her pay rate beyond what she was entitled to receive. This scheme allowed her to obtain unauthorized funds over approximately three years.

The charge carries a potential sentence of up to 20 years in prison, three years of supervised release, and a fine of $250,000. Sentences are determined by a federal district court judge based on U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and relevant statutes. As part of her plea agreement, Morse has agreed to pay restitution totaling $168,366.66.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation conducted the investigation with Assistant U.S. Attorney Charles L. Rombeau prosecuting the case.
