A London, Kentucky man, Kenneth Dodd, aged 33, has been sentenced to 76 months in prison. U.S. District Judge Robert Wier delivered the sentence on Thursday for Dodd's involvement in methamphetamine distribution and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Dodd's plea agreement reveals that law enforcement identified him as a methamphetamine supplier in Laurel County on September 14, 2023. Authorities used two confidential informants to conduct controlled purchases from Dodd. During one transaction, Dodd sold a stolen firearm to an informant.
As a convicted felon, Dodd was prohibited from possessing firearms. He had previously pleaded guilty in 2020 to making materially false statements to a federal agent and cyberstalking.
Under federal law, Dodd is required to serve at least 85 percent of his sentence. Following his release, he will be supervised by the U.S. Probation Office for three years.
The sentencing was announced by Carlton S. Shier IV, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Kentucky; Shawn Morrow, Special Agent in Charge at ATF's Louisville Field Division; Chief Jerry Hollon of the London Police Department; and Sheriff John Root of the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office.
The investigation involved collaboration between the ATF, London Police Department, and Laurel County Sheriff’s Office as part of the Laurel County Drug Interdiction Task Force.
