A Louisville man, Nathan Cole, 28, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison by U.S. District Judge Robert Wier. The sentence comes after Cole's involvement in the distribution of methamphetamine and a fentanyl mixture.

According to court documents, on April 21, 2023, Cole sold fentanyl and methamphetamine to a confidential informant at a restaurant in London. Specifically, he distributed 1,000 pills containing fentanyl weighing approximately 111 grams and an additional 237 grams of methamphetamine.

Federal law requires that Cole serve at least 85 percent of his sentence before being eligible for release. Following his release from prison, he will be under supervision by the U.S. Probation Office for five years.

The announcement of the sentencing was made jointly by Carlton S. Shier IV, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Kentucky, and Jim Scott, Special Agent in Charge at the DEA's Louisville Field Division.

The investigation leading to Cole's conviction was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). Assistant U.S. Attorney Justin Blankenship is responsible for prosecuting this case on behalf of the United States.
