A resident of Pittsburg County, Oklahoma, Jerry Brandon Pearce, aged 55, has entered a guilty plea to a federal firearm charge. The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced that Pearce pleaded guilty to one count of possessing an unregistered explosive device.
The indictment specified that on September 5, 2023, in the Eastern District of Oklahoma, Pearce knowingly possessed a destructive device not registered to him in the National Firearms Registration and Transfer Record. This registration is required by law.
This charge is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Jason A. Robertson from the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma accepted Pearce's plea and has ordered a presentence investigation report to be completed. Meanwhile, Pearce remains in custody under the United States Marshals Service until sentencing.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Richard Lorenz and Jacob R. Parker on behalf of the United States.
