An Indiana man has admitted guilt in a drug trafficking case involving the distribution of fentanyl across the Twin Cities and nearby regions, as announced by U.S. Attorney Andrew M. Luger.
Court documents reveal that Da’Shawn Natori Domena, aged 25, collaborated with others from August 2022 to December 2023 to distribute fentanyl in Minnesota. The group regularly traveled to Phoenix to acquire fentanyl pills from suppliers, concealed them inside stuffed animals, and mailed them to various addresses around the Twin Cities. Law enforcement agencies in Dakota, Ramsey, and Washington counties became aware of the operation and launched a joint investigation, which led to the confiscation of six packages containing over 30,000 grams of fentanyl pills.
Domena entered a guilty plea in U.S. District Court before Judge Jeffrey M. Bryan on one count of conspiracy to distribute fentanyl. His sentencing hearing will be scheduled at a future date.
The investigation was carried out by several agencies including the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, Homeland Security Investigations, the Dakota County Drug Task Force, the Washington County Drug Task Force, and the Ramsey County Violent Crime Enforcement Team.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Campbell Warner is handling the prosecution of this case.
