A Jamestown resident, Justin Brooks, 35, has been sentenced to 97 months in prison following a guilty plea for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. U.S. District Judge John L. Sinatra, Jr. delivered the sentence.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Joshua A. Violanti. On February 8, 2021, Jamestown Police responded to Brooks' Bush Street residence due to reports of a possible assault and began investigating a burglary/assault incident. During their investigation, officers executed a search warrant at the location and discovered approximately 357 grams of methamphetamine along with other items including suspected marijuana, $6,500 in cash, scales, packaging material, and a sword.
This case is part of an operation led by the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF), which targets high-level criminal organizations posing threats within the United States through coordinated efforts involving multiple agencies and intelligence-driven strategies.
The investigation leading to Brooks' sentencing was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration's New York Field Division under Special Agent-in-Charge Frank A. Tarentino III and the Jamestown Police Department under Chief Timothy Jackson.
