Patrick Malloy, a 34-year-old resident of Buffalo, New York, has been sentenced to 24 months in prison following his conviction for possession of child pornography. The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Trini E. Ross. Senior U.S. District Judge William M. Skretny presided over the sentencing and also ordered Malloy to pay $48,000 in restitution and register as a sex offender.

The case was handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Craig R. Gestring, who reported that on June 24, 2023, law enforcement executed a search warrant at Malloy’s residence. During the search, several electronic devices were seized which contained approximately 28,000 images of child pornography. These included images depicting prepubescent minors under the age of 12 engaged in sexually explicit conduct.

This sentencing is the result of an investigation conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force, led by Special Agent-in-Charge Matthew Miraglia.
