Brantley Miller, a resident of Humboldt, Tennessee, has been sentenced to six years in federal prison for his involvement in an organized drug trafficking operation in West Tennessee. The announcement was made by Acting U.S. Attorney Reagan Fondren for the Western District of Tennessee.
The investigation began in 2019 and involved several law enforcement agencies, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the West Tennessee Violent Crime and Drug Task Force, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, and the Drug Enforcement Administration. These agencies collaborated to uncover a network distributing methamphetamine, fentanyl, and marijuana from California to Tennessee.
During the course of their investigation, authorities seized over 32 pounds of methamphetamine and more than 101 grams of fentanyl. Additionally, three firearms were confiscated from those implicated in this conspiracy.
Miller pled guilty on September 24, 2024, to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine. On December 20, United States District Court Judge S. Thomas Anderson sentenced him to 72 months in federal prison followed by three years of supervised release after completing his sentence.
Miller was the last co-defendant sentenced in this case. Other individuals involved received various sentences from Judge Anderson:
- Kendall Young: 188 months imprisonment for being a felon in possession of a firearm.
- Cortez Jackson: 134 months imprisonment for conspiracy related to methamphetamine distribution.
- Vanessa Umanzor: 43 months imprisonment for similar charges.
- Tristen Teague: Sentenced to 100 months.
- Orlando Sangster: Received a sentence of 24 months.
- Jonathan Sandoval: Sentenced to 120 months.
- Dejahn Jarrett: Received a sentence matching Miller's at 72 months.
- Ronnie Young: Also received a sentence matching Sandoval's at 120 months.
- Jaycent Montrell Pankey (also known as Jaycent Montrell Cox): Sentenced to 42 months for using telecommunications devices related to drug distribution.
- Devon Avery Landers: Received a sentence of 36 months.
- Joel Lynn Arnold: Sentenced to serve 84 months.
This case was part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) initiative aimed at dismantling significant criminal networks through coordinated efforts across various law enforcement bodies.
Acting U.S. Attorney Fondren acknowledged Assistant United States Attorneys Christie R. Hopper and Hillary Parham for prosecuting the case alongside law enforcement partners who contributed significantly during investigations.
