U.S. District Judge Theodore D. Chuang has sentenced Andrew Trayvon Hale, a 27-year-old resident of Prince George’s County, to 15 years in federal prison followed by three years of supervised release. This sentence is related to his involvement in a series of 11 armed commercial robberies and the discharge of a firearm during one of these incidents.
The sentencing was announced by Erek L. Barron, U.S. Attorney for the District of Maryland, alongside Special Agent in Charge William J. DelBagno from the FBI Baltimore Field Office, Chief Malik Aziz from the Prince George’s County Police Department, Chief Richard Bowers from the Greenbelt Police Department, and Chief Pamela Smith from the Metropolitan Police Department of the District of Columbia.
According to Hale's plea agreement, he and co-conspirator Antoine Javon Hare conducted at least 11 robberies between June 19 and July 23, 2022. These crimes targeted retail establishments across Maryland and Washington D.C., with firearms being used in each instance.
Hale admitted that he and Hare engaged in armed robberies at various convenience stores within this period. Following their last robbery, officers from the Prince George’s County Police Department along with a Guardian helicopter pursued Hale and Hare as they fled into Washington D.C. The pursuit ended when they lost control of their vehicle and crashed, leading to their arrest. Law enforcement recovered firearms used by Hale and Hare as well as proceeds from one robbery.
Antoine Javon Hare pled guilty on December 11, 2024, for his role in these crimes. His sentencing is scheduled for March 27, 2025.
