Attorney General Ken Paxton has initiated legal action in response to claims that the Biden Administration is selling sections of the United States-Mexico border wall. Reports indicate that up to half a mile of wall segments might be auctioned daily at significantly reduced prices, with some starting bids as low as $5.

In May 2024, Paxton achieved a legal victory mandating the federal government to allocate specific funds for border wall construction. The sale of these wall sections, if funded by those obligated resources, could contravene this court order. President-Elect Donald Trump has urged the current administration to cease any sales of such materials immediately.

Paxton has filed a motion in court seeking intervention to halt any potentially illegal sales. He stated, “The Biden Administration cannot auction off sections of the border wall. If these reports are true, the Biden Administration is violating a federal court order.” He emphasized Texas's commitment to preventing unauthorized sales and uncovering any governmental actions undermining border security efforts.
