United States Attorney Roger B. Handberg has announced the indictment and arrest of Liridon Masurica, a Kosovo national also known as "@blackdb." Masurica was apprehended in Kosovo, and U.S. authorities are seeking his extradition to face charges in the United States under an existing extradition treaty.
A grand jury in the Middle District of Florida indicted Masurica on December 3, 2024. The charges include one count of conspiracy to commit access device fraud and five counts of fraudulent use of unauthorized access devices. If found guilty on all counts, he could face up to 55 years in federal prison.
According to the indictment, Masurica served as the lead administrator for BlackDB.cc, an online criminal marketplace operating since 2018. This platform allegedly sold compromised account credentials, credit card information, and other personal data primarily from individuals in the United States. Purchasers reportedly used this information for various illegal activities such as tax fraud and identity theft.
The investigation involved cooperation between multiple agencies including the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), IRS-Criminal Investigation, and Kosovo Police’s Cybercrime Investigation Directorate. The prosecution will be handled by Assistant United States Attorney Carlton C. Gammons. Additional support came from several international offices including the FBI’s Legal Attaché Office in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Masurica's indictment is a formal charge indicating alleged violations of federal criminal law; he remains presumed innocent until proven guilty.
