Barbour County man receives 57-month sentence for meth trafficking

Edward Matthew Wiseman, a 37-year-old resident of Belington, West Virginia, has been sentenced to 57 months in prison for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. This sentence was handed down by Chief U.S. District Judge Thomas S. Kleeh.

Court documents reveal that Wiseman was involved in selling methamphetamine in Elkins. A search of his residence led to the confiscation of methamphetamine, two firearms, and $4,802. Wiseman's criminal history includes previous charges such as assault, multiple DUIs, reckless driving, a drug conviction, and protective orders related to domestic violence.

Following his prison term, Wiseman will undergo three years of supervised release.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephen Warner on behalf of the government. The investigation was conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives along with the Mountain Region Drug Task Force, which is funded by HIDTA.
