Federal indictment charges 38 in alleged drug trafficking conspiracy

A federal indictment has been unsealed, charging 38 individuals with conspiracy to distribute fentanyl, methamphetamine, and cocaine hydrochloride. The announcement was made by United States Attorney Sandra J. Hairston of the Middle District of North Carolina.

The indictment lists several individuals allegedly involved in the narcotics distribution conspiracy. Among those charged are Nicholas Tyler Curry, also known as "Hundough" and "Hondo," Emmanuel Martimiano Leon-Soto, also known as "Manny" and several other aliases, and Jimmy Mendoza Arenas, known as "Gordo." Others include Crandall Ortis Ingram ("Turk"), Kelly Emanuel Harrington Jr., Erick Lemar Pollard ("Black"), Jerry McClure Jr., Anthony Okurtis Rashad Lloyd ("Ant"), Christopher Trelonnie Everette ("Bank Rich"), Damon Lee Ingram ("Danky"), Trent Dashun Starnes ("Trinidad"), Carmen Valenzuela, Ivangianni Valenzuela Gonzalez, Ray Cozart Jr. ("The Mayor"), Sammy Soqui, Bernard Esquire Cain, Abel Gebrehiwet Zeratsion, Nikonda Taye Ingram ("Slatt"), Charles Eugene Robbins, Adan Villareal-Grajeda, Jorge Antonio Lopez-Valdez, Lewis Rondez Pratt, Adrian Devon Hill, Precious Sequila Herron, Shaina Aleah Hunt, Scottie Perett Stanback, Ahmad Rashaun Saunders ("Heart"), Corneillous Deonte Staley ("Sosa"), Saniyah Jenay McCorkle, Amya Kyonna Gordon Katey Ann Lamonds German Lopez-Gomez Xavier Fabrice Ellis (Zay), Camarius Kison Phillips (CBo), Cody Anthony Curry (Boss Curry), Terell Myhiem Baldwin (Backstreet), Michael William Curtis Justin Rand Allen.

Ten defendants are also facing charges related to a conspiracy to launder money obtained from the drug trafficking scheme. These individuals include Nicholas Tyler Curry and Emmanuel Martimiano Leon-Soto.

Attorney Hairston stated that "an indictment is merely an allegation and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law." If convicted on the narcotics charges alone these individuals could face life imprisonment; those convicted for money laundering could receive up to 20 years.

Currently 37 out of the 38 defendants have been apprehended. Eighteen will make their initial court appearances before U.S Magistrate Judge Joi E Peake either today or tomorrow within the Middle District of North Carolina while eight others arrested outside this district will appear where they were detained initially instead.. Eleven remain under custody due either state/federal detention awaiting arraignment at later date but one remains elusive still at large

This prosecution falls under Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces' investigation which aims dismantling top-level traffickers through coordinated efforts involving multiple agencies like United States Postal Inspection Service Homeland Security Investigations among others working together towards common goal stopping crime networks threatening nation’s security
