McAlester man pleads guilty to felony assault charge

The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma has announced that Larry Keith Mickle, a 49-year-old resident of McAlester, Oklahoma, has pleaded guilty to a felony assault charge. Mickle was charged with one count of assault with a dangerous weapon with intent to do bodily harm.

According to the indictment, the incident occurred on June 18, 2024. Mickle allegedly assaulted the victim using a dangerous weapon with the intention of causing bodily harm. The crime took place in Pittsburg County, within the Choctaw Nation Reservation in the Eastern District of Oklahoma.

The case was investigated by both the Pittsburg County Sheriff’s Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Magistrate Judge D. Edward Snow from the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma accepted Mickle's plea and ordered a presentence investigation report to be completed. Mickle will remain in custody under the United States Marshals Service until sentencing.
