The Baltimore City District Court Re-Entry Project is set to celebrate its fifth graduating class. The ceremony will take place on Wednesday, October 24, at the Borgerding District Court Building in Baltimore. Approximately 40 participants who have successfully completed the program will be recognized.
The event will feature Greg Harrell as the keynote speaker. Harrell is known for his achievements as a world bobsled champion and a former tight end for both the Los Angeles Raiders and San Diego Chargers.
Judge Nicole Pastore Klein, who founded the DCREP in 2016, will preside over the ceremony. The initiative aims to reduce criminal recidivism by offering defendants full-time job training and placement opportunities as part of their probation conditions or as an alternative to incarceration. Since its inception, more than 95 participants have completed the program.
Attendees will include family members of graduates, judges, prosecutors, and community activists. Key figures such as Chief Judge John P. Morrissey of the District Court of Maryland and Baltimore City District Administrative Judge Barbara Baer Waxman are also expected to be present.
Those interested in attending or requiring further information should contact the Maryland Judiciary’s Government Relations and Public Affairs Division via email. Advance approval is required for camera use during the event, with consent needed from individuals being photographed.
