Attorney General Michelle Henry, in collaboration with the Pennsylvania State Police and New Jersey State Police, has announced charges against 20 individuals allegedly involved in a cocaine trafficking operation based in Philadelphia. The investigation led to the discovery of 20 firearms, 12.5 pounds of cocaine, and other drugs following numerous search warrants executed earlier this month.
The alleged head of the operation, Anthony "Bang" Blake, was among those arrested. Blake faces nine felony charges related to corrupt organizations and drug and firearms offenses. His bail is set at $500,000.
Seventeen suspects have been apprehended, while arrest warrants remain active for three others. The defendants face multiple charges including felony possession with intent to deliver and conspiracy.
Attorney General Henry emphasized the impact of the arrests: “With Mr. Blake allegedly at the top of the chain, all of the charged defendants were traffickers, so this arrest operation put a stop to a large network of dealers in Philadelphia.” She highlighted that many drug traffickers use firearms for protection.
Colonel Christopher Paris from the Pennsylvania State Police stated: “The charges announced today send a clear message to drug trafficking organizations that you are not welcome in Pennsylvania.” He noted the commitment to eliminating corruption and violence associated with drug trafficking.
Colonel Patrick J. Callahan from the New Jersey State Police remarked on law enforcement's dedication: “These arrests underscore the unwavering commitment of law enforcement to combat and dismantle drug trafficking operations.”
The investigation received support from several agencies including the Drug Enforcement Administration, Montgomery County Detectives, and Delaware County Drug Task Force.
Those charged include Kenneth McCall, Tyrone Hayward, Shawn Sanford, Zamir Allen, Irvin Sanders, Clifford Nixon, Ramses Rodriguez, Anthony Brown, Monica Cleveland, Amber Tressler, Carlos Alvelo, Norberto Toldeo, Christopher Ramos, Jerime Jones and Jillian Carrington. Khalil Rippy, Terrell Brice and Jonathan Cruz still have active warrants for their arrest.
In addition to cocaine and firearms seized during searches were $72,356 cash along with quantities of fentanyl MDMA promethazine with codeine marijuana as well as paraphernalia related items found at various locations targeted by authorities throughout Philadelphia region into parts neighboring state New Jersey where joint efforts continued ensuring public safety through strategic operations
