Judges from the Circuit and District Courts, alongside attorneys, have volunteered to serve as judges for the Maryland Youth & The Law (MYLaw) High School Mock Trial competition. This effort took place during January and February 2023. The final trial of the local Baltimore City section is scheduled for Tuesday, February 28 at the District Court in Baltimore City, also known as Borgerding Courthouse. The event will determine which school from Baltimore City will move forward to compete in the state playoffs against schools from other circuits.

Judge Ana Hernandez from the District Court in Baltimore City will preside over this significant educational event. Students from Gilman School and City College will participate by portraying either defense or plaintiff/prosecution roles. They will be evaluated on their performances by volunteer judges or attorneys.

The program aims to further students' understanding of law, court procedures, and the legal system while enhancing skills such as listening, speaking, reading, and reasoning. It also seeks to increase appreciation for academic studies and career awareness related to law professions.

The mock trial is set to take place on Tuesday, February 28 at 5:00 p.m., located at Courtroom 1 of the District Court in Baltimore City (Borgerding Courthouse), situated at 5800 Wabash Ave, Baltimore, MD 21215.
