Administrative Judge Shaem C.P. Spencer of the District Court in Anne Arundel County will preside over an educational program aimed at high school students. Participants from Arundel, Broadneck, Southern, and Indian Creek high schools are set to attend the event.

The program will provide students with insights into the legal and financial repercussions of poor decision-making. They will hear firsthand accounts from individuals who have encountered the legal system due to offenses such as drunk driving, speeding, and texting while driving. Additionally, students will witness actual court cases and participate in question-and-answer sessions with court personnel to gain a deeper understanding of the judiciary.

A new component focusing on mental health awareness has been incorporated into this year's program. This addition aims to educate students about the impact of mental health issues on both the public and the judicial system.

The event is scheduled for Thursday, February 16, 2023, at 9 a.m., taking place in Courtroom 1 at Anne Arundel County District Court located at 251 Rowe Blvd., Annapolis.
