On April 14, 2020, Maryland Court of Appeals Chief Judge Mary Ellen Barbera issued two new administrative orders in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The first order provides guidance for trial courts in Maryland concerning individuals who are incarcerated or imprisoned.
The second order amends a previous administrative order, expanding and extending statewide Judiciary restrictions on court operations due to COVID-19. It also closes the courts to the public with limited exceptions for certain emergency court matters through June 5, 2020.
