Eight individuals are set to be recognized for their achievements at a graduation ceremony on July 25. The event will celebrate their completion of a court-supervised program designed to help participants gain self-sufficiency and become responsible community members. This initiative, known as the Adult Treatment Court, began in 2015 and has since seen over 65 graduates.
The ceremony will take place at the Circuit Court for Calvert County. County Administrative Judge Mark S. Chandlee will preside over the event. Scott F. Travers, Regional Director for Anne Arundel/Southern Maryland Office of U.S. Senator Chris Van Hollen, is slated to speak at the ceremony, with Jonathan Riffe from the Annapolis City Fire Department delivering the keynote address.
The graduation is scheduled for 1 p.m. in Courtroom 1 at the Circuit Court located on Main Street in Prince Frederick.
Members of the media planning to attend or requiring further information should contact the Maryland Judiciary’s Division of Government Relations and Public Affairs via email or phone. It should be noted that cameras are not permitted inside the courtroom during proceedings; however, interviews can be conducted outside in the lobby area post-ceremony with Judge Chandlee and guest speakers available for comments.
For those interested in taking photographs or conducting interviews with program participants after the ceremony, it is advised to obtain consent from those involved.
