Approximately 130 high school students from Anne Arundel County will participate in the Schools in the Court program at the Anne Arundel County District Court in Annapolis. The event is scheduled for Thursday, February 16, and aims to educate students on the legal and financial consequences of offenses like drunk driving.

Students from Old Mill and Southern high schools will have the opportunity to observe court proceedings. They will also hear firsthand accounts from individuals who have faced significant impacts due to poor decisions. Additionally, participants will meet members of the Maryland State Police K-9 squad.

The program is hosted by Anne Arundel County District Judge Shaem C.P. Spencer. This session marks the third out of four planned Schools in the Court programs by the District Court of Maryland in Anne Arundel County for this academic year.
