Maryland Court of Appeals Chief Judge Mary Ellen Barbera visited the District Court for Somerset County in Princess Anne on September 16. During her visit, she was welcomed by Judge Paula A. Price and had the opportunity to tour the court facilities and meet with employees.

Judge Price expressed her appreciation for Chief Judge Barbera's visit, stating, “It is impressive that Chief Judge Barbera has visited each court facility in the state, and I was honored to meet with her and welcome her to our part of the world.” She further noted the importance of recognizing the efforts of court professionals in serving their community.

County Clerk Connie Tyler remarked on the significance of the visit: “We all got to meet Chief Judge Barbera personally, which was a delightful surprise. She asked thoughtful questions and was truly interested in how we, as a small office, work together as a team.”

Following her tour, Chief Judge Barbera acknowledged the hard work of those at Somerset County District Court. She said, “Today, I had the wonderful opportunity to meet with Judge Price as a colleague on the bench, and to thank her and the talented staff here at the Somerset County District Court for their hard work and dedication.”

Appointed by Governor Martin O’Malley in July 2013, Chief Judge Barbera has prioritized visiting each Circuit and District Court across Maryland since taking leadership.
