The Colorado Judicial Department has commenced the application process for the Eviction Legal Defense Fund grants for the fiscal year 2025-26. These grants are intended to support nonprofit organizations in Colorado that provide legal assistance to low-income individuals facing eviction or those at immediate risk of eviction.

Applicants for this grant must have prior experience in offering legal services, including representation in eviction cases, actions for monetary damages, lease violations, or other related judicial actions necessary to protect tenant rights. The selection of organizations for the grant is based on a formula that considers geographical need, specifically the number of forcible entry and detainer filings in various counties or cities across the state.

For the upcoming grant cycle, the funding pool is anticipated to be $1.1 million. In the previous fiscal year 2024-25, grants totaling this amount were awarded to six different organizations.

Further details about the grant program, including application links and rules, are available on the Colorado Judicial Department’s website. All applications must be submitted via the Office of the State Court Administrator’s grant management system, AmpliFund, by 5 p.m. on April 30, 2025. Applications that are late or incomplete will not be taken into consideration.
