The Sixth Circuit Treatment Court will hold a graduation ceremony at the State Capitol Rotunda in Pierre, South Dakota, on May 15, 2024. The event, scheduled for 9 a.m. CDT, is open to the public and will celebrate participants who have completed the program.

Attendees will include friends and family of the graduates. The drum group Wakinyan Maza from the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe will perform during the ceremony. Notable speakers include Governor Kristi Noem, Mike McKnight, and Rebecca Porter.

The ceremony is accessible to media and cameras and will also be available via Zoom for those unable to attend in person.

Treatment courts aim to address substance abuse and mental illness effectively while reducing recidivism rates. They offer a combination of supervision, treatment, and support to help individuals achieve stability and recovery. These courts contribute to public safety by keeping roads free from impaired drivers and providing parents with resources needed for sobriety.
