The South Dakota Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) Commission is set to conduct its annual meeting virtually via Microsoft Teams on May 9, 2024. The session will begin at 8:30 a.m. CDT and will be followed by a new program and expansion program meeting at 11:30 a.m. CDT.
The agenda for the annual meeting includes updates from both state and national CASA organizations, presentations from six South Dakota CASA programs, discussions, and awards. Meanwhile, the subsequent meeting will focus on updates about developing new CASA programs, grant application presentations for two new programs as well as two current programs seeking expansion, along with further discussions and awards.
Public participation is encouraged by the South Dakota CASA Commission. Interested individuals can join the meetings through Microsoft Teams using the provided link.
The South Dakota CASA State Administered Organization works in collaboration with the National CASA Association and the South Dakota Unified Judicial System’s State Court Administrator's Office. Their joint mission is to offer leadership, support, and encouragement to state CASA programs that serve courts handling child abuse and neglect cases.
