The Second Circuit Drug Court is set to hold a graduation ceremony on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at 1:30 p.m. CDT in Sioux Falls. The event will take place at the Minnehaha County Administration Building.
This program offers an alternative to incarceration by providing supervision and access to counseling and treatment for offenders battling addiction. Graduates who have completed all five phases of this demanding program will be recognized in the presence of their friends and family.
Minnehaha County Public Defender Traci Smith is scheduled as the keynote speaker for the ceremony. The event welcomes public attendance, including media, family, and friends of the graduates. It will be held in the third-floor multi-purpose space at 415 N. Dakota Ave., Sioux Falls.
Participants in the drug court program undergo frequent drug screenings, pay fines and fees, complete chemical dependency treatment hours, secure employment, find stable housing, and become sobriety leaders during their time in the program.
