Marissa Miller has been appointed as the Dodge County Court Clerk Magistrate in Fremont, commencing her duties on October 21, 2024. Sara Fowler, Director of Trial Court Services, stated, "Ms. Miller’s dedication, hard work, and knowledge of the courts will enable her to excel in her new position as Clerk Magistrate."

The role of a county court clerk magistrate involves working under the general direction of the presiding county judge. The responsibilities include supervising staff within the county court and managing people, paperwork, finances, and records. Miller's tasks will also involve ensuring administrative efficiency and evaluating procedural changes.

Miller will collaborate with fellow clerk magistrates Vicki Kuhlmann from Blair and Tekamah, Sara Gunderson from Ponca, Marcie Goeden from Pender (whom she replaces), Kerri Wiese from Dakota City, and Diane Sudbeck from Hartington in the 6th Judicial District. Judges Francis Barron, Sara Bauer, Thomas Klein, and Edward Matney oversee these courts.

The Nebraska judicial system distributes power among various courts including the Supreme Court and operates under its administrative direction. Additionally, it includes separate juvenile courts in Douglas, Lancaster, Sarpy Counties, and a statewide Workers’ Compensation Court.
