Chief FOIA Officers Council plans virtual meeting open to public

The Office of Information Policy (OIP) has announced that the Chief FOIA Officers Council will hold a virtual meeting on Thursday, November 7, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM ET.

This meeting is open to all agency FOIA professionals and members of the public. There will be an opportunity for public members to address the Council. Those interested in attending must register on Eventbrite by 11:59 PM ET on Monday, November 4, 2024. Additionally, the meeting will be available via livestream on the National Archives' YouTube channel.

The Chief FOIA Officers Council was established under the FOIA Improvement Act of 2016. Its responsibilities include developing recommendations, sharing best practices, and coordinating initiatives to enhance agency FOIA administration. The Council is co-chaired by the Directors of OIP and OGIS and includes each agency's Chief FOIA Officer and the Deputy Director for Management of the Office of Management Budget.
