Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost has commented on a recent move by Cigna Group, the parent company of Express Scripts, to provide clients with clearer information regarding prescription payments. This decision follows a lawsuit filed by Yost against Cigna and others over alleged anti-competitive practices and lack of transparency.

"Days after I sued Cigna and others over their anti-competitive practices and lack of transparency, they magically decide to become more transparent. Good – we will see how real it is," stated Yost.

Yost emphasized that while the move toward greater transparency is welcome, it does not resolve the ongoing lawsuit or address the alleged anti-competitive practices. "However welcome this move may prove to be, it doesn’t settle our lawsuit, or fix their anti-competitive practices. It’s full steam ahead in court," he added.

Cigna's announcement comes two and a half weeks after Yost filed a landmark lawsuit against Express Scripts, Cigna Group, and five other companies. The suit accuses these entities of illegally inflating drug prices and passing those increased costs onto patients.
