The North Dakota Attorney General's Office has announced a paid summer fellowship for law students and recent graduates interested in public interest law. The position, supervised by Chief Deputy Attorney General Claire Ness, offers a salary of $1,000 per week for 12-13 weeks and is part-time and temporary.

The fellowship provides opportunities to work with the Attorney General and legal divisions, gain valuable experience and mentorship, learn about state government functions, network with state officials, and add a prestigious fellowship to one's resume.

Eligible candidates must have completed at least one year of law school with a minimum GPA of 3.0 (3.5 preferred), possess excellent writing skills, and demonstrate a commitment to public interest through community service or other activities.

Applications are screened based on qualifications, interview performance, and background checks. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States as the office does not provide sponsorships. Applications must be submitted online at www.nd.gov/careers by 11:59 PM on the closing date listed.

Required documents include a resume, cover letter detailing interest in the fellowship and public interest work experience, three professional references, law school transcript (unofficial acceptable), optional undergraduate transcript for additional academic achievement demonstration (preference given to those with at least a 3.5 GPA), and 1-2 writing samples.
