DALLAS (Legal Newsline) - The law firm that helped VideoShare LLC sue Google for nearly $26 million is now going to court to recover $6 million in attorneys fees.

The Shore Firm LLP filed a lawsuit April 30 against VideoShare, LLC., seeking an award of $6 million for its successful representation of VideoShare against Google, LLC and YouTube. VideoShare has removed the case to Dallas federal court.

According to the complaint, The Shore Firm represented VideoShare in a case against Google and YouTube which resulted in a $25,900,000 judgment for VideoShare.

The case involved alleged patent infringement and culminated in 2021 in the eight-figure award.

The Shore Firm also alleges that despite multiple demands and an arbitration award issued on April 23, 2024, that now totals more than $1,020,000 with interest, VideoShare continues to refuse to pay the case expenses as agreed.

The firm further claims that due to VideoShare's refusal to honor the terms of their agreement and other actions, it had "just cause" to withdraw from representing VideoShare. It also alleges that VideoShare wrongfully terminated its services after just cause had been established for withdrawal.

The Shore Firm is now seeking quantum meruit fees (fees based on the reasonable value of services rendered) amounting to $6 million.

Michael Shore and Zachary Della Porta of The Shore Firm are trying the case, with help from Dennis Weitzel of Ted B. Lyon & Associates.
